I have posted another round of pictures in the gallery. I am almost keeping up on this so far. I haven't really slept in about 4 months (on Friday) so it is a great achievement. Evie is doing well now after her first illness, pink eye. I have to say as a first illness I greatly prefer it to the RSV Lena had. I think I might have been able to pass on better resistances to her since I got everything with Lena for the first couple years.
We went to Collin and Avery's birthday today. It was at a My Gym location, very nice party. Lena ran for about 2 hours straight and was very tired at the end. Evie even did well and loved watching the big kids. She hates to be laying down, I think that girl is going to crawl and walk very early because she thinks she has places to go.
It has been quite a heat wave here this week. I think tomorrow we will finally get to spend some time by the pool. I'm off to check the weather station to see if we can open up for the night.
Sunday morning I was talking on the phone during a rare peaceful moment. Evie was playing in the exersaucer spinning the toys and drooling contentedly. Lena was running around like the crazy girl she is. Lena starts telling me that Evie isn't playing right and trying to spin the toy for her. I instructed Lena to let Evie play and go do something else, a minute later Evie starts screaming. I look over and there is Lena spinning the toy. Then Lena tells me that she was standing by her art desk and Evie made a plan to cry. Using great control I didn't laugh. I knew those 3 month olds were plotting and scheming. Evie is also plotting to interrupt my sleep for a 4:30am feeding too.
I am writing from our new laptop! We got it Wednesday night and BJ has been working his magic to get everything just right. He just declared it ready to go so I'm playing with it now. So far it is super cool, I hope BJ never wants to use it because I'm claiming it. This brings our household computer tally up to 3 again. Which is good because we didn't feel geeky enough with only 2 computers, we only kept our geek status because one of those is running Ubuntu.
Last week was Evelyn's first week at day care. She did very well and even started taking real naps after a couple days. I also did pretty well, I only almost cried a couple times the first day. I think the closest to crying all week was when I took Lena to her class on Wednesday and her teacher told me that she spent the entire outside play time watching Evelyn through the window to make sure she was OK. She is getting to be a great big sister.
The girls and I hit the library summer reading kickoff on Saturday. Lena had a blast and Evie slept. When we signed Lena up for the summer program she heard that babies could do it too so we had to sign up Evelyn. Then when we got home we had to read all the books she picked out. I only escaped a second run through because it was time to play with Grammy and Pa-Pa.
Since we finally are having some nice weather we did yard work, cleaned the garage, and washed the cars. Then a little swimming to cool down. Now it is off to bed, work and school again tomorrow!
That is a little misleading they were two separate events, but on the same day. Poppy and Nana are out visiting from Maui so we've been having lots of fun. Yesterday we went to grab some lunch and do a little shopping. We left Tokyo Joes and on the way across the parking lot to Target we said "wow, the sky looks green like a tornado sky." Then we joked about Poppy and Nana getting locked in Kohls during a tornado the last time they were out. So we are browsing Target and they lock down the store for a tornado. After only 15 minutes we were given the all clear.
That evening we took Lena (and Evelyn but she didn't really care) to Casa Bonita. It was very fun and we all survived on sopapillas. Lena thought it was very cool and after many failed attempts she even went through the cave. We had a great seat right at the bottom of the waterfall so she could see the divers really well. I put some pictures up in the gallery and I'm going to keep trying to keep it up to date.
Today is rainy/snowy so we are staying close to home. I think tomorrow we are going to head to the mountains.
